Maltese nationalists used to assert the Italianità (Italian heritage) of the Maltese.
Fråga 2 out of 10
I'm from what would be termed a "nationalist family", what did Maltese nationalists hold?
The Maltese are essentially Arabs and Maltese nationalists held an anti-Arab prejudice.
The Maltese nationalists held that position because they were fascists.
Yes for Italian culture and heritage was our undisputed heritage, so much so that in official British Imperial reports the "deitalianisation" of the Maltese was called for. You don't de-anything if that thing is not so in the first place!
Yes, Maltese nationalists believed that the Italian language was an integral part of our culture and the vehicle, together with our Catholic Christian faith, through which to assert our European heritage.

PN was officially founded in 1880 and that is why PN celebrated its 125th. anniversary in 2005.
Fråga 3 out of 10
False.
Frankly, I don't know.
PN is that old?
PN was officially founded in the mid-1920s through the union of the Unione Politica Maltese and the Partito Democratico Nazionalista under the name of Partito Nazionale, I think...
True.

Pre-WWII names for the current Malta Labour Party or organisations from which it stemmed were the Camera del Lavoro and the Partit tal-Haddiema.

It was always called Malta Labour Party.

Fråga 5 out of 10
Come on, we all know that Christian Democracy within PN is thanks to the Studenti Demokristjani Maltin!
False, it was actually what evolved into today's MLP.
False.
Slightly incorrect, Gorg Borg Olivier wanted to turn PN from ideologically nationalist into an ideologically Christian Democrat party based on Italian Christian Democracy.
True.

Archbishop Sir Michele Gonzi, prior to being Bishop of Gozo and then Archbishop of Malta, was a representative of which political party in the pre-WWII Senate in Malta?
Fråga 6 out of 10
Come on, he obviously represented PN or one of its antecessors.
Gonzi was always a fierce nationalist, proof of this is his condemnation of Labourites in the post-WWII period which was due to his will to favour PN and nothing more.
He never got involved into party politics.
He represented the clergy in the Senate.
The MLP or its antecessor.

In Maltese electoral history, once a political party managed to take all seats from the district of Gozo, which was it?
Fråga 7 out of 10
It was the imperialist Constitutional Party led by Lord Gerald Strickland.
No one ever did such a thing in any district in Maltese political history.
One of the parties that eventually got amalgameted into PN.
The Partito Democratico Nazionalista (Democratic Nationalist Party) led by Enrico Mizzi, considered "extremist" by British Imperial authorities and others.
Unione Politica Maltese
Your knowledge of Maltese political history - 1
Prior to WWII the political struggle was mostly between PN and MLP.
Fråga 8 out of 10
Frankly, I didn't even know that there were other parties in the pre-WWII period.
No, MLP only gained strength to rival PN when Dom Mintoff came into the scene in the post-WWII period.
True.
Yes, though PN in the period was always ahead.
You think I'm stupid? It was between the Partito Nazionale co-led by Sir Ugo Mifsud and Enrico Mizzi and the Constitutional Party led by Lord Gerald Strickland. MLP then was just in a factually subordinate role to Strickland's party in the Compact.

The man known as Dom Mintoff, Duminku Mintoff or "Il-Perit" used to sign his name as Domenico Mintoff in his younger years.
Fråga 9 out of 10
Are you serious? He married an English woman, he studied in Oxford and it is not to be doubted that if anything he was always pro-British.
I don't know this, but I think it is possible.
No, it was only those pro-Italian nationalists that used to sign their names in Italian.
Yes he did, true.
Yes, and that applies also when he used to write in Maltese.
Your knowledge of Maltese political history - 1
The only Maltese prime minister to die in office was nationalist leader Enrico Mizzi, whom died on the 20th. December of 1950. Representatives from all parties, including those that had vilified him throughout his political career, all gave praise to him and his personality which was such that led to his supporters to call him "cavaliere senza macchia e senza paura" (knight without blight or fear). One of the MPs stated these words (in Maltese) - "notwithstanding that he suffered everything, he suffered deportation, a Court Martial, insults and treachery he never changed his stand but remained of resolute character, he remained Maltese, the best amongst the Maltese..." - Who said these words?
Fråga 10 out of 10
An adversary.
Cleary someone from the party he led.
Dom Mintoff.
Giorgio Borg Olivier.
I don't really know, who is Enrico Mizzi anyways?
