Dinner Pail In rural florida the mid-day meal was called dinner. Also students did not carry their lunches in lunch boxes, they used old lard pails.

Dunce Cap There are several forms of punishment in the late 19th century school house. In this example a student would be asked to sit in the corner wearing a dunce cap for a period of time.

Ink Well In the late 1800s students did not have the pens we know today to complete their school work. Instead students would hold the ink they needed to complete their classwork in this glass container.
