"Butterflies & Hurricanes" was the sixth and final single to be released from Absolution. The CD includes "U-Myx Enhanced Section" software for the purpose of remixing Butterflies & Hurricanes.
"Supermassive Black Hole" was the first single to be released from Black Holes and Revelations. According to Bellamy, this was "a deliberate shock tactic" to "create a stir".
Black Holes and Revelations is Muse's fourth studio album, released three years after previous album Absolution, in July 2006. The album is less classically orientated than Origin of Symmetry and Absolution, while introducing new influences including jazz, soul and R&B. The album contains elements of these genres.
Despite Wolstenholme's indication that "Starlight" would not be released as a single, it was released on the 4th September, 2006. First announced by Jo Whiley. It was released in the US later in the year, achieving success by peaking at 2 in the Billboard Modern Rock charts.
"Knights of Cydonia" was the third single to be released from Black Holes and Revelations. It was featured in BBC Radio 1's "Track of the Week" in the week starting 22nd/23rd October.
"Invincible" was the fourth single from Black Holes and Revelations in the UK and France. The B-side to "Invincible" is "Glorious" which first appeared as the Japanese bonus track on Black Holes and Revelations.
"Map of the Problematique" was the fifth and final single to be released from Black Holes and Revelations. It was a download only single released in the wake of Muse's two-night performance at Wembley Stadium, on the 18th June 2007.
H.A.A.R.P. is a live album featuring recordings from Muse's two concerts at Wembley Stadium in 2007. The release is a CD and DVD package,[3] with the CD featuring a partial set list from the 16th of June and the DVD featuring a partial set list from the 17th of June along with a documentary and photograph gallery.
Uprising is the first single release from The Resistance and was first aired on the 3rd of August at 19:30, by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. The single was released to download from 4th August 2009 and was released on physical formats (CD and Vinyl) on 7th September 2009.
The fifth Muse studio album, The Resistance, was released on September 14th 2009. Like previous Muse albums it draws from a wide range of genres and influences, including glam rock, R&B, disco and classical. The Resistance sees the return of instrumentation previously used on Origin of Symmetry, including a church organ ( Unnatural Selection) and llama toenails (United States of Eurasia).
"Undisclosed Desires" is the second single release from The Resistance on the 16th November 2009. The single was released worldwide for download only, with a CD single being released in Germany on the 19th February 2010. The tracklist was announced on the 2nd November 2009 via muse.mu. The single contains three remixes of the song: The Big Pink remix, The Thin White Duke remix and the Thin White Duke remix (edit). The video was shot on the 19th October 2009.
"Bliss" was the third single from Origin of Symmetry and the first released after the album. "Bliss" was release on 20th August 2001 but had been designated as the third single from the album in April 2001.
Hyper Music/Feeling Good was the first of two double A-side singles from Muse, and the final single released from Origin of Symmetry. The single was announced near the end of October 2001 and released on 19th November.
"Dead Star/In Your World" is the second double A-side single released by Muse and the only single release from Hullabaloo Soundtrack. The recording of the two new songs was rumoured from November 2001.
The Hullabaloo Soundtrack was released in accompaniment on the Hullabaloo DVD. Disc 1 includes a selection of B-sides used in the documentary on Disc 2 of the DVD, and disc 2 includes live tracks recorded at the Paris Zénithgigs in 2001.
"Stockholm Syndrome" was the first single to released from Absolution and was originally a download single, and was later released as the third single from the album on 29th March 2005 in the US. The download single came with the video and high-resolution artwork in PDF format so fans could create their own physical single.
"Time Is Running Out" was the first physical single release from Absolution, and the second overall, released in Europe and Japan. It was also the first single released from the album in the USA, the first there since the release of "Cave" four years previously.
Absolution is Muse's third album and was released worldwide during September 2003, with the first single, "Stockholm Syndrome", being released on the 14th July 2003. The album was recorded at Grouse Lodge Studios in Ireland and AIR Studios on London during 2003.
"Hysteria" was released as the third single from Absolution in Europe and the second in the US, for which a new video was recorded. It was announced as the third single from Absolution in September 2003, shortly after which Matt confirmed that the b-side would be "Eternally Missed".
"Sing For Absolution" was released as the fourth single from Absolution, announced by Zane Lowe in November 2003 and released on 17th May 2004 in the UK. The video premiered in April 2004.
The first glimpse of Muse's new direction, with the introduction of Muscle Museum. "Instant Messenger" would later be renamed to Pink Ego Box. The EP was a limited and hand numbered edition (999). Unnumbered editions were issued to radio stations and journalists. Numbered CDs were sold at local stores and at concerts.
The single was originally slated for release on 31st May, however this date was changed sometime during early June. Q online awarded "Uno" their single of the week award for the week of 13th - 20th June 1999.
"Cave" was second single from Showbiz, released in the UK, US, and France. "Cave" is one of two Muse singles to not have a video (the other being "Map of the Problematique").
Showbiz was Muse's debut album, having been recorded between 1998 and 1999. The songs themselves included some of the older songs in Muse's repertoir, dating as far back as 1996. All songs on the album had been witten by 1997. These were among the "fifty or so" that Muse had written before entering the studio.
"Sunburn" was added to Radio 1's C playlist on, or shortly before, 31st January 2000.[1] The live version of "Sunburn" featured as a b-side was recorded in Vienna on 2nd May 2000 and is played fully on guitar instead of piano.
"Unintended" was the penultimate single to be released from Showbiz, preceding the re-release of "Muscle Museum". It was one of two Muse singles to be released on cassette, the other being "Plug in Baby". The live performance of "Sober" on the vinyl is from the 6th January 2000 gig at Paradiso, Amsterdam.
"Muscle Museum" was the third Muse single to be released in the UK and France, the first in the US and Benelux, and the second in Australia. Some of the original singles were hand signed by the band, on a few of them, Bellamy put Howard's phone number on the single so that fans could contact him if they dared.
The first single from Origin of Symmetry, contributing the album's respectable chart position at 3. It was the first Muse single to be released in Japan. "Plug In Baby" was released as a 5-track EP exclusively in Greece and Cyprus under Sony's Columbia Records.
"New Born" was the second single to be release from Origin of Symmetry before the release of the album. It was released as a 6-track EP exclusively in Greece and Cyprus under Sony's Columbia Records.
Origin of Symmetry came first about through the changes Muse underwent during their intensive touring in promotion of Showbiz, with a lot of material written whilst touring. However, this album is more riff orientated and slightly darker than Showbiz, containing several songs which use piano or organ.
