What is the biggest misconception about Islam?

Allah is not God That Allah is not the God of Judaism and Christianity. CORRECTION: The word Allah is the correct name of God in arabic. It means The-God. Jewish and Christian Arabs in the middle east call God by the name of Allah.

Islamic Domination Islam is trying to dominate the world. CORRECTION: Islam only invites to God and beleives that the majority of people will eventually accept islam when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) comes.

Jihad = Holy War Westerners think Jihad is 'holy war' intended to kill non Muslims. CORRECTION: Jihad is struggling to DEFEND oneself from sin and oppression.

Non muslims are Infidels The rumor that non-Muslims are infidels and doomed CORRECTION: the word they are referring to is 'kafir' which means one who disbelieves, even a muslim can be a kafir in some aspects of Islam, ex: if a muslim believes that alcohol is not forbidden, which in reality it is forbidden in Islam.

Women Oppressed Women are oppressed in Islam as second class citizens or even inhuman. CORRECTION: Both muslim men and women are to be conservative in intention and action. This is meant for their protection. This topic is fragile and difficult to answer in just a few sentences.
