What Kind Of Cook Are You?

Buy a Lipton "rice sensations" packet or order take-out! Making rice is easy, but the fun part is positioning it on the plate with some lovely parsely. Pour some rice in the pot and fill the water to knuckle level or otherwise eyeball it since you've made it so many times. Use "boil in a bag" to be safe or read the package directions and hope for the best. Water to rice ratio of two to one. Steam for 25 minutes or more depending on altitude on a very low heat.

I always include a hamhock or some salt pork like they used during the depression. I don't eat beans unless they're in a restaurant burrito. Good eatin' but they always give me gas! I like to include more than one kind of bean for added color. Open a can or call my sister! Sort for rocks and boil until tender, adding water as needed. Some good seasonings would be onion, salt, cumin, and red chile powder.

Bake banana nut bread, after browsing through my cookbooks for a recipe that calls for just the right number of bananas that I need to use up. Make a beautiful fruit salad before they get any riper. NASTY! Just throw them away. Smash em' up for the baby. Um, I can use half of these for banana bread using my Betty Crocker cookbook.

Butter, Jif or generic peanut butter, etc... Butter, peanut butter, and don't forget those cute fork imprints at the end and maybe a Hershey kiss on top! Skippy Natural or homemade peanut butter, and of course real butter... Store bought cookies are fine! Partially hydrogenated oil is great for shelf life! Um, I wish my internet connection was faster cause I don't own a cookbook...

A little butter or vegetable oil is great for browning the flour and making a roux Be sure to add some pepper at the end and some colorful pimientos Buy the packet and keep it fast and simple Pick some up from KFC of course! Start with some nice bacon grease just like grandma used...

box mix and frosting...cook at 400 degrees I bake a nice cake or buy one and then go to town with some cake paint or frosting bags! Decorating is the fun part! pineapple upside down cake just like mom used to make! Yum! Store bought cakes rock! Just tell them how to spell the person's name. Whatever their favorite cake is from scratch...I'm up for the challenge!
