Real Native American History

A long time ago, Grandfather told me not to trust anything that had to abbreviate their name. All Indians Probably regret America American Indian Peace Reform Act American Indian Percap Rip off American Indian Probate Reform Act Assuming Indian Properties Reform Act It stands for thinking that us Natives are too stupid to manage our own assets!

Aunt Eloise told me it's when the white men came in 1887 and told me to sign this paper sayingto trust them and they would give me money I have no clue. Indian owned land, the title to which is held in trust and protected by the Federal Government. Indian people and Tribes have use of the land, but ultimate control of the land remains with the federal government. Land that Indians own and have rights to inhabit and use. Land that were supposed to TRUST that the Government won't take away again. Property given to me by my grandparents. Property that you can trust.

A report of what areas your ancestors are from. I dont need to worry about that until I buy land. Individual Territory Interperated. Individual Trust Interest Report that shows the undivided interest in land you own on ANY reservation in the United States. Individual Trust Interest report that tells you how much money you made on any land you own on ANY reservation in the United States. Individual Trust report that shows me what land was taken from me! There is no such thing.

From any BIA office. From my parents. They are supposed to take care of that for me. From my Tribal Council office. From the BIA but you dont have one if they dont mail it to you every year. Local BIA realty office or the Bureau of Indain Affairs Regional Office. The BIA is supposed to have it but they always lose everything so probably nowhere! Those records dont exist anymore now that we speak English.

1924 In the early 1900's but they must have forgotten because our votes still don't count today. Indians can only vote on tribal matters but not matters of the United States Government. Indians have been able to vote since 1924 but they dont count them in the United States Census so our votes don't really count. Leonard Peltier fought for our rights to vote in 1975 and we have been able to vote since then. We have always been allowed to vote.

1993 1994 1994 but you have to carry a card stating that you are part of a Native American religion to be able to use it. Ever since August 11. 1978 when the American Indian Religious Freedom Act was created to protect and preserve for American Indians. Native Americans never used Peyote. They only used sweetgrass. We dont have to tell anyone that we use Peyote because we are soveriegn so we can use it whenever. What is peyote?

160 acres 160 acres to each head of family and 80 to others. Indians selected their own lands but if they failed to an indian agent did it for them and it was held in trust for 25 years until allottees could learn to treat it as real estate. All the Indians got to live on the land they had until they couldnt produce crops on it. Then it was open to whoever to Homestead on. As much as they could farm. The Indian Agents had meetings with the Tribal Chiefs and they set out who got what amount of land. They said we got to have 160 acres and then when we couldn't survive off of it because we were used to sharing property as a community we sold it to take care of our families. We didn't get to have any land.

That only tribal members can use the Casino because in most states it is illegal to gamble. That the tribe pay federal tax. That they must not allow minors to gamble and all revenues must be paid to the tribe. The Tribe and State must make a compact within 60 days. The tribe does not have to make any compacts with the state but they do have to pay federal taxes. The Tribes and States negotiate a compact for certain types of gaming and if within 60 days a compact is not reached, will escalate to bringing in a mediator to reach a compact and if still no compact is made will escalate to the Secretary of the Int We are sovereign and we can perform any gaming we choose as long as it does not violate Federal laws.
